Cymer, headquartered in San Diego, is a manufacturer of deep ultraviolet lasers used in the production of semiconductors. Lithography tool manufacturers integrate Cymer light sources into their products, which then are installed in semiconductor fabrication facilities. Tinicum began building its position in Cymer in July 2007 (having invested in Cymer twice before in 2001 and 2004). On May 30, 2013, ASML Holding N.V. (NASDAQ: ASML) completed the acquisition of Cymer.
